Privacy policy
Last updated: 1 November 2026
This policy explains what information PDFILOVE ("we", "us") collects when you use our website and services, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, password (stored only as a secure one-way hash) and language preference.
- Your files: documents you open are processed on your own device, inside your browser. They are not uploaded to or stored on our servers.
- Usage information: which tools you use, how many pages you process and when, so we can apply plan limits and improve the service.
- Payment and support information: details you share when upgrading your plan or contacting us.
- Technical information: IP address, browser type and similar data in our hosting provider's logs (Cloudflare), used for security and troubleshooting.
2. How we handle your files
All PDF processing (converting, merging, editing, OCR and so on) happens in your browser. Your files and the results never leave your device, and they disappear when you close or reload the page. The only exception is the AI features (summarize and translate): when you use them, the extracted text of your document is sent through our server to our AI provider, Groq, solely to produce the result. We do not store that text.
3. How we use information
- To provide, maintain and secure the service and your account.
- To apply plan limits and manage subscriptions.
- To send service emails such as password resets and plan confirmations.
- To answer your questions and improve our tools.
4. Cookies and advertising
We use one essential cookie to keep you logged in, and store your language choice in your browser.
On the free plan we may show ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, and learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Where required by law (for example in the EU and UK), we ask for your consent before personalised ads are shown. Premium accounts see no ads.
5. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the service (such as Cloudflare for hosting, our email provider, Groq for AI processing and Google for advertising on the free plan), when required by law, or to protect our rights and users.
6. Data retention
We keep account and usage information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from My account, which permanently deletes your account and usage history.
7. Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your personal information, and withdraw consent where applicable, under the laws that apply to you (including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023). Contact us at support@pdfilove.com.
8. Security
We use encrypted connections, hashed passwords and in-browser file processing. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your information.
9. Children
The service is not intended for children under 18 without the involvement of a parent or guardian.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy and will post the new date above. Questions? Email support@pdfilove.com.
